Street Style

Street Style. Get it?
Have I wow-ed you with my cleverness?

Striped tank- Goodwill
Cardigan- Old Navy
Black jeans- Forever21

Wearing this outfit makes me feel put together, but it's still very comfortable to wear. Also, the striped tank top holds such wonderful memories for me. Let's reminisce.

My senior year of high school I made the Tennessee AllState choir, and it was such an incredible trip for me. Because it was located in Chattanooga, I got to spend a fair of time with Lydia and Megan those couple of days. The set of pictures above was taken by my extremely talented friend, Emaleigh, on the first day we we were in Chattanooga, and it was incredibly warm and beautiful. Emaleigh and I enjoyed a really pleasant time sitting on the walking bridge before the hectic next few days ensued. The trip was kind of the beginning of the end or our senior year, and it's one of my fondest high school memories.

Clothes hold memories, and that's one of the main reasons why they are so important to me. Even though it's absolutely frigid outside and Emaleigh is ruling school in Chattanooga, this shirt brings me back to that time, and I feel warm and happy. That's a beautiful and powerful thing, don't you think?

Shout out to my dear auntie Kay, who is also a blogger, for baring the cold with me and taking a few shots. Love you!

See you soon,
Sarah

Post Valentine's Blues

I hate the day after holidays. It's like all the excitement is gone and it's just kind of a bummer day. However, today was the first time I have seen the sun like the whole month of February, so that was nice. I think I got a little too excited about the nice weather though because I was definitely cold while taking these pictures.

This outfit looks like it cares, but it really doesn't. It is such an effortless look and requires little work on my part (which I love).

Top: Goodwill
Belt: Maurices
Cut-Off Shorts: Goodwill
Tights: Eddie Bauer
Boots: Rack Room Shoes
Necklace: Gift from my parents

I think I am going to put on a couple more layers and go enjoy the sunshine today. I hope everyone felt loved and cared for yesterday! Have a fun rest of the weekend!

Valentine's Day Makeup

HAPPY VALENTINE'S DAY.

I love this day. You get to wear pink, and people give you candy. Why wouldn't you love it? I don't understand why people are so down on Valentine's day. I've never had a boyfriend, on V-day or not, and do you hear me complaining? Okay, yeah, I complain. A lot. But the point is, you will never hear a bad word about this day come from my mouth. It's a great day. Stop being so down on it.

So. The actual topic of this post.
Makeup.
Fun Valentine's Day makeup.

I was originally going to do three makeup looks, but I looked really weird and uncomfortable in the other pics, so you're welcome for not posting those.

This makeup is a different take on Valentine's day makeup. It's a littler bolder than your classic red lip. Here's a little rundown on how did this makeup look.

I started off with Hard Candy Glamoflauge concealer. It looks like a trashy brand, but this concealer is seriously good. Next, I put on Rimmel London's Match Perfecter foundation and topped it with their Stay Matte powder. On my cheeks, I used E.L.F.'s Studio Blush in Pink Passion.

For my eyes, I started with a shimmery cream colored eye shadow all over my lids and in the corner. On the crease, I used a shimmery bronze and blended it in with the cream colored shadow on my lid. These came from my E.L.F. Warm pallet. I used the top and bottom left shadows on the right side of the pallet.

I am NOT winged eye liner professional, but it goes smoother for me when  I use a black pencil liner before tracing back over it with liquid liner. That's my little secret for ya'll today.

Now to my favorite part. The purple lips!
Before applying this color, I prime my lips with foundation to blot out the pink of my lips. It really makes a difference in the tone of the purple, but it still goes on easily and stays on well.

I really love wearing this makeup because it's fun and unique but not over the top.

Hope you enjoyed this little tutorial. Have a fabulous Valentine's Day!

Lots of Love

WOAH. It has been a long time. Seeing my face this big and up close might have startled you a bit-- I know it did me. I could give you a list of excuses as to why I haven't blogged in over a week, but I don't have one at all. I just haven't posted, and I'm very sorry for that.

I actually don't look very sorry at all, do I?
I guess you'll just have to trust me.

If you're thinking, "Wow! These pictures look fantastic. Who took them?" the answer would be my dear friend Cassidy. She was kind enough to bare the cold with me today and be my photographer. I can not thank her enough because the world knows I am not the easiest model to work with.
Cassidy has a sweet and cosy little blog of her own called Tea & Rainy Days. You should definitely give it a look.

I have a confession. Last week, I watched the move LOL, starring Miley Cyrus and Demi Moore, three times in three days. It's not the greatest story ever told or a timeless piece of cinematic art or anything, but I am obsessed with it. Seriously, I made a list of fourteen reasons why I love it. I won't go into detail of the list, but what you need to know is that it begins and ends with the wardrobe. I could go on for days about how perfect it is. The laid back, slouchy vibe of Miley's character's clothes is effortlessly cool, and it is everything I want and need in a closet. The same goes for her mother, played by Demi Moore. It's all just perfect. The hair, the makeup, the clothes. I can't even handle it.
This outfit is one of many that has been inspired by this movie, and it surely won't be the last.

Jacket, plaid shirt: Goodwill
Black pocket tee: Goodwill find that cut up to give it a worn look
Black jeans, boots: Forever 21

I plan on being back on my blogging game this week. Thank you for bearing with me and my severe procrastination tendencies. Be on the lookout for a little makeup how-to and a fun Valentines day post. What?!
I guess I talk to you then!

I was cold, I needed a jacket.

Hello friends! It's been a long weekend full of God's love and I am so thankful for that. I wore this outfit to church today after trying on about five other outfits. You know how sometimes you just can't find anything to wear? Today was one of those days, but I ended up pretty pleased with this outfit.

One time I wrote like a journal entry about this blue jean jacket because I love it so much. That's weird and I probably shouldn't have told you that. Oh well. The title of this post is a song lyric from my friend Evan's band, Great Bay. You should probably look them up.

Jacket: Yard Sale
Black Shirt: Old Navy
Lace Dress: Free People (I got it on super sale at some random store in Knoxville)
Hunter Green Tights: Target
Combat Boots: Rack Room Shoes
Purse: Essex

Enjoy your Super Bowl Sunday activities. I will be eating my weight in junk food. Have a good night!

A 60 Degree Saturday

It's the first day of February and 60 degrees outside. If this is any indication of how the rest of the month is going to go, I am very excited for the weeks to come.

I love how slouchy and casual this outfit is without looking disheveled and lazy.
Also, you might have noticed that I have bangs. They're slightly different than bangs I've had previously, and I'm excited for the change.

Sweater: Old Navy
Tee: American Apparel
Bandeau: Forever 21
Shorts: a birthday gift from Lydia
Hightop Converse: Journey's

This summer, I'm hoping to incorporate a more laid back vibe into my style, and today I got to experiment with that. Summer please come soon!

Hope you've had a happy Saturday!
