Last Friday, I took Julia and Lauren out of school for lunch at a local restaurant with my and Julia's cousin Holly. We had a blaaast. Before I let them eat, though, I made them take pictures for this here blog. It started raining, though, so our little shoot was cut short, and we were left with these awkward shots down below. What a shame.

Spring Awakening

Hello, friends! I've had a super fun and busy weekend, which is why I haven't posted since Wednesday. I actually took pictures on Friday, but I went out of town after and wasn't home until late, so you'll see those pictures on Tuesday.

This Saturday, the college I attend put on this even called Spring Awakening, which is basically a music festival where local bands and Nashville based bands came and played music all day long. It was fantastic! My dear friend, Lauren, is in a band called Lakeside, and they are fabulous. Lakeside kicked off the festival.

Aren't they SO cute?!
Check out their Instagram and Twitter and YouTube channel.

I'd like you to meet Emily McCormick. She's been supportive of this blog since day one, and I'm so thankful for that. She's also been very avid about expressing her desire to be on this blog of mine, so here you are Emily! Look at how fabulous she is! Emily is one of the most talented people I know. Watch out for her because she'll be on Broadway. I'm not even kidding; she's insane. Every time she walks onto the stage I cry because she's so incredibly talented.

Here Cassidy, Emily, and I are at Spring Awakening.

It was a rainy, cloudy Sunday-- my favorite kind of Sunday because it's prime napping weather.
 It's been a good weekend!

Jean shirt and blank t-shirt and loafers: Goodwill
Leggings: Old Navy

This black pocket tee was originally short sleeved, but I cut it into a tank top and distressed the neck line and hem. I was in one of my LOL moods-- you've heard me blog about that movie, so you know.

Have a good week! Summer break is almost here!

Oh hey, I was too busy being very casual and nonchalant in my tropical rainforest leggings to notice you there. Thanks for stopping by the blog today! How have you been?
The weather is beautiful, school is winding down, and I am about as thrilled as you can get about that.

 See?

I would like to dedicate the message of this t-shirt to all of my loyal readers out there.

Easter

Happy Easter from me and my family!!
I love Easter because it's a special day to remember Jesus's resurrection and defeat of Satan.
"Oh, death, where is your sting?"
I also love pretty Easter dresses, all the candy, and family time.

It was sooooo bright today!

Joggers

Hello! I'm here to talk to you about a style of pants that is very important. This style is called "joggers," and I am in love. These have an elastic waste and elastic cuffs at the ankles. They are loose and have sort of a harlem pant-esque fit to them. Soooo nice!!!

I love this style of pants because you can dress it really slouchy and casual or really sharp and put together, all the while being very comfy and looking very stylish.

I have plans to wear them again tomorrow and also every other day for the rest of my life.

Sunglass, crop top, joggers: Forever 21
Sweater: Goodwill

This post has been my campaign to convince you to buy a pair of joggers. Seriously, you'll thank yourself.

Chanel and Glitter

Hello, friends! Last Friday in my post, I was wearing makeup inspired by Chanel's Spring Runway look, and today I want to give you some details on how I did it.

Here's the original look

And here's my adaptation of the original.

Sorry for the awful picture quality.

Obviously, on top, I just drew thick cat eye liner with my Khol liner and then E.L.F. liquid liner. In the Chanel look, the eye liner goes to a point past the tear duct, but I stopped at the tear duct for more of a softer effect.
I lined my bottom lid with Wet and Wild's Color Icon Glitter Single in Spiked, which is a creamy, glittery eye shadow-- perfect for this makeup look! It stays in place pretty well, but because it is glitter, some of it does fall, so I had light, glittery circles under my eyes at random points throughout the day. It also takes a few nights of cleansing and makeup remover to completely get the glitter off, but it's a good product.

I dusted a bright pink bush on my cheeks and a fun, light pink on my lips, but you very well could go bare on the lips.

Have fun trying this makeup look for yourself!

Ready for the Weekend- Icona Pop

So so happy for the weekend!
I've been so productive this week, which is incredibly rare, so I'm ready for a break. I spent today watching Stuck In Love and napping.

I don't know if you can see here, but my makeup is inspired by Chanel's 2014 Spring Haute Couture runway look. I've been obsessed with this makeup, and I found the perfect glitter eye shadow to do it myself. I'll do a tutorial next week. It's so so fun!!!

This is the outfit I wore yesterday, but the internet was highly against me posting it on time, so I'm sharing this little number with you today instead.
Yesterday, I spent a good deal of time with my cousin, Kelly, and her husband and two year old son. It was a fun time. Wednesday was a good day for me.

Lazy Saturday

Hello friends! It's been quite the lazy Saturday for me, expect for a bit of cleaning that I did in between my tumblr and nap time. Tonight, I'm going to see my old high school's production of Les Miserable. I've seen it once before, and it's incredible, so I'm very excited to see it again!

Rainy Days and Fridays

I had a really nice outfit planned for today, but there was a pretty big thunderstorm and my power went out, so I decided just to wear a t-shirt and jeans. It was quite the hectic morning, but I had a nice afternoon watching Netflix and catching up on some Youtube videos.

Since the power went off, I had to do my hair in the dark. Now, I have trouble doing my hair in the light, so I don't know how I pulled it off without any light.

Here are two fun facts about me for you: I love Oregon, and I love chemistry. So when I found this t-shirt at a salvation army in Portland, Oregon last summer, it was as though someone knew I was coming and planted it there for me.

Have a good weekend, everyone!

Little Black Dress

One Direction has a song called "Little Black Dress" off their new album Midnight Memories, and it's a super fun song about a guy seeing a girl at a party who is wearing a black dress, and immediately he wants to know everything about her because he thinks she is beautiful. The girl in song probably wasn't wearing a black dress with a turtle neck collar. Oh well.

My apologies for the awkward face. I thought this shot showed the shape of the dress nicely.

I ordered this dress online, originally hoping to buy it in gray, but it was sold out, so I went for the black option because I thought it was a unique, yet simple piece. The dark color, paired with the high neck, makes it difficult to style for spring. I took on the challenge, however, and decided to pair it with a pair of silver sandals that I bought years ago and a coral lip lacquer from Rimmel London called Show Off in the color Luna.

Sending you off with some blurry shots of me being a supermodel.

Regroup

Hello everyone! Today, I want to go over some products that I've mentioned in the past and tell you which ones I still love and which ones haven't really stood the test of time.

Not Your Mother's Beach Babe Hair Texturizing Cream
first posted here:
A little while after I posted about my love for this product, I got layers cut back into my hair. This cream made the layers stick up all over the place, and my hair looked like a mess. If you have layered hair, especially short hair, I would not suggest this product to you. If you don't have layers in your hair and want to use this product, I suggest using it in small amounts and pairing it with a de-frizzing cream or serum.

Revlon Color Burst Stay Matte Balm
first posted here:
I am still obsessed with this line of products. I love the color Unapologetic, especially now that spring is here. It's long lasting, has good pigment, and goes on smoothly. Great product.

Mabelline Color Show Nail Polish
first posted here:
This is one of my favorite nail polish brands because it stays on so long and has a nice finish without a top coat. The price is around $3.00, which is such a great price for such high quality. I definitely recommend this product. The color Born With It (150) is a nice nude pink shade, perfect for spring.
